John Dominic Crossan to visit Louisville

Crossan is presently professor emeritus in the Department of Religious Studies at DePaul University, where he taught for 26 years. He has received numerous academic awards and is the author of 23 books on the historical Jesus, early Christianity and the historical Paul. Five of his books were national religious bestsellers, and all have been translated into foreign languages.
Through the years, Crossan has been interviewed on more than 200 radio stations, including four times on NPR's "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross. He has also been interviewed on network television programs such as ABC's Prime Time, Peter Jennings Reporting and Nightline, CBS's Early Show and 48 Hours, NBC's Dateline and Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor and on cable specials on A&E, The History Channel, Discovery Channel and the National Geographic Channel.
Crossan's appearance is being sponsored by several local religious organizations, including the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Albany, the Archdiocese of Louisville, the Mid-Kentucky Presbytery, Bellarmine University and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
